What Is A Rehabilitation Programme?

Rehabilitation programmes should ideally begin before the surgery as well as being continued on afterwards. If you begin before the surgery takes place you will help to reduce recovery time after surgery.

What We Offer

Physiotherapy treatments after the surgery help to reduce stiffness and pain as well as helping the individual to regain full independence as quickly as possible. Acupuncture is also of great benefit in many of these situations, to help control pain post-surgery.

After Keyhole surgery on knees and shoulders, hip and knee replacements, or surgery where metal plates or pins have been inserted, Physiotherapy is necessary for correct rehabilitation.  Using a range of exercises, our Physios will help you to regain muscle strength and movement so that you can function as normally as soon as possible.

They will also teach you how to use crutches or supports, and will ensure that you can carry out basic movements such as standing up, sitting down and going up and down stairs. You should continue to see the Physiotherapist until you have optimum function from the new joint
