William Ryan, Chartered Physiotherapist
Qualifications & Education
William is a Chartered Physiotherapist and a current member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. He has recently returned to Cork following 10 years of studying and working in the UK. He has completed courses in acupuncture, dry needling and manual therapy. He is currently studying for a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy in University College Dublin.
After obtaining his BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Northumbria Newcastle, William began working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in the NHS. He worked closely with consultants and extended scope physiotherapists in numerous specialities including orthopaedics, rheumatology and neurosurgery. He eventually progressed to working as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist focusing on rehabilitation of acute injuries and post orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation. He has worked as a pitch side physio with numerous rugby union, rugby league and football teams in the UK. After gaining extensive experience, he returned to his native Cork and has been working in private practice since. He currently works with numerous GAA clubs.
William is currently studying in University College Dublin for a Masters in Sport Physiotherapy. This has allowed him to continue to improve his knowledge, skill set and his ability to treat more complex conditions. He strives to combine effective evidence based practice with bespoke rehabilitation plans to suit each individual client.
William is an avid sports fan, in particular hurling. He also enjoys outdoor pursuits including hiking and cycling.
