Roisin Parker, Chartered Physiotherapist
Qualifications & Education
Roisin is a fully licensed musculoskeletal Chartered Physiotherapist with current membership of the ISCP (Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists) and New Zealand Physiotherapy board. She obtained a 1st class honours in her BSc of Physiotherapy from UCD after completing 1000 hours of practical experience across all areas of physiotherapy.
After graduating, Roisin moved to New Zealand in November 2015 to gain experience working, living and travelling abroad. While in NZ, Roisin worked with PhysioAction in Auckland for 18 months. She was based part-time in a private practice clinic working with a varied population, treating a range of acute to chronic musculoskeletal conditions and some neurological conditions. She was also based part-time in a secondary school, treating students and staff mostly with acute injuries. During the winters she also spent 2 seasons working with Glenfield Rugby Club's senior mens team. During her time in NZ, Roisin completed a certified course in trigger point Dry Needling and used this technique throughout her practice. Roisin has recently returned to Ireland with new skills and a keen interest in sports injuries and chronic back pain. She is also very interested in how lifestyle and physical pain/health are related to mental health, and strives to help patients improve their general wellness as well as a specific injury. Roisin also worked teaching sports and activity camps to children of various abilities for 7 years and through this developed an interest in paediatric physiotherapy".
Outside of work, Roisin enjoys being active - going to the gym, doing yoga, dabbling in sports and hiking (you can't leave NZ without this hobby). She is also a keen traveller and foodie.
