Qualifications & Education
Richard qualified with a degree in Physiotherapy from Northumbria University, in England. He has completed courses in myofascial cupping, massage, RFU Intermediate Care in Sport level 2, Foundation Acupuncture and Acupuncture in sport, alongside multiple Shoulder rehabilitation courses.
After qualifying Richard spent nearly 2 years working in the Northumbria healthcare trust in the Northeast of England completing his junior rotations. Richard completed his rotations in Paediatrics, Elderly Rehab, Respiratory medicine and Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal outpatients. Richard then moved to Musculoskeletal private sector company in the UK as a Senior Physiotherapist. Alongside this Richard has worked as the head physiotherapist for a semi-professional rugby team in the North east of England.
Through Richard’s experience of dealing with a wide variety of age groups and populations, he is able to understand the specific needs and rehabilitation goals of each patient. This is also backed up with the latest clinical evidence and hands on therapy. Richard has a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, MCSP,AACP, HCPC-Registered and is RFU ICIS level 2 qualified.
Richard has a keen interest in strength and conditioning and rehabilitation, which he has drawn from over 10 years’ experience working in and around rugby clubs and rehabilitation facilities.
Richard is a keen sports person playing rugby, participating in Crossfit and enjoys an active lifestyle. Richard is also a keen traveller having travelled the world previously on his own for 2 years.
