Qualifications & Education

Sara is a fully licensed Chartered Physiotherapist with current membership of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (ISCP) in Ireland. Sara obtained her Bachelor and Masters degree for rehabilitation science and physiotherapy at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), in Belgium. She completed her Masters Degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and also finished a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports physiotherapy and Manual therapy. Because of her interest in Hand Therapy Sara is now qualifying to become a licensed Hand Therapist. She is also qualified to perform Cupping Therapy.

Sara has experience in treating musculoskeletal pain, especially low back, neck and shoulder pain. She is also very interested in sport injuries and she has a combined specialist interest in hand therapy. She worked for 3 years in a dynamic group practice in Belgium where she had the opportunity to work with other high qualified physiotherapists, acupuncturists and  dietitians. The Private Practice was linked to a soccer team (playing Europa Leage and Champions League) and to a school that educated talented young tennisplayers which gave her the opportunity to work with elite sporters and to use a fantastic rehabilitation facility in combination with a lot of treatment modalities. She has also worked in a Private Practice of an official Belgian Hand Therapist to gain more experience in hand therapy and hand splinting.

Sara also has been giving evening classes to physiotherapy assistants and has completed post graduate courses in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy including kinesiotaping, functional rehabilitation and special scar treatments.

She approaches any complaint with a holistic approach. She combines manual treatments with the necessary individual exercise therapy and ensures patients achieve their personal goals.

Sara has been playing soccer for over 10 years. After moving to Ireland she is planning on picking up rugby as a sport. She is a member of the Manual Therapy Group and of the Sports and Exercise Medecine Special Interest Group in the ISCP.
