Qualifications & Education
Nicola graduated with BSc. (Hons) Physiotherapy from Queens Margaret University in 2010. She is a fully Chartered Physiotherapist with current membership of the ISCP (Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy) and of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists in the UK. She has completed further training in acupuncture with the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Charted Physiotherapists), Pilates with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and taping with the ACPSEM (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine) amongst others.
Experience & Interests
After graduating, Nicola worked in the NHS for 5 years before returning for the HSE in 2016. She gained experience in a broad scope of disciplines including Orthopaedics, Women's Health and Stroke Rehabilation to name but a few.
During her time in the NHS, Nicola worked for various sports teams including Scottish Hockey and several amateur rugby teams where she gained extensive experiencce in sports injury management. She also worked for several private practice clinics during this time.
Her special interest is sports injuries but she treats a variety of muscoskeletal conditions. With her clients, Nicola uses a combination of manual therapy, massage, taping and acupunture.
Nicola has also trained in matwork Pilates which allows her to select the most appropiate exercises for her clients' rehab programmes.
Nicola has a special interest in acupunture and dry needling and is focusing on further training in this area at present.
