Kevin D’Arcy is a fully licenced Chartered Physiotherapist with over 15 years experience in the Irish Health Service and he also has considerable expertise working in a private capacity with inter-county teams. Kevin qualified from the University of Ulster Jordanstown with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 1999. Since qualification he has been a member of both the Irish and British Chartered Societies. As part of his post graduate training he has done rotations in all areas of Physiotherapy including Paediatric Physiotherapy, Neurology, Care of the elderly, Orthopaedic, Sports Injuries and Respiratory Physiotherapy.
Experience & Interests
Kevin has worked in the Midlands for the last 15 years where he currently specialises in Outpatient and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy. His expertise is broad ranging but his specific interests lie in the fields of Orthopaedic Medicine and Sports Injuries with particular interests in back and neck pain, Orthotics and Biomechanics and Medical Acupuncture.
Kevin participates in regular CPD training and regularly mentors students and staff grade Physiotherapists helping them learn the art of accurate assessments and appropriate treatments. He keeps himself up to date with advances in Physiotherapy and educates himself in new treatment techniques for example, Medical Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Kinesio- Taping, Orthotics and Manipulation techniques.
Kevin is a former Irish International 400m Hurdler with Irish national, British AAA and European medals. This has given him a broad insight into the importance of appropriate diagnosis and management of sports injuries.
