Kevin Cassidy, Chartered Physiotherapist
Qualifications & Education
Kevin is a Cork native but has lived away for the last 15 years. He left behind a career in I.T. to study Physiotherapy and graduated with a first-class honours degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Cumbria. He has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Medicine which has given him adifferent perspective in how to treat and prevent injuries.
He has worked in the NHS in Scotland before returning to Ireland this year. He and his wife felt that returning to Cork would be the best upbringing for his young son. He has worked as a specialist MSK practitioner in the NHS. Kevin did his Degree Dissertation on the barefoot/minimalist running phenomenon and how foot strike patterns may prevent common running knee injuries. He has a keen interest in gait patterns and how this may influence injury
Outside of work, Kevin is an avid Sports fan and can be found on a Friday evening watching Cork city at Turners Cross. He is also a keen rugby and GAA fan. In his younger days Soccer and GAA were the sports he participated in. Now he likes to swim and runs when he gets the chance (usually after his young son). He has a keen interest in treating sports injuries and in also helping the non-sporting populations to improve and restore function.
