Siobhán O'Donovan, Chartered Physiotherapist
Qualifications & Education
Siobhán gained her undergraduate degree in Physical Education and her Master of Science degree in Health Science/Sports Injury Prevention and Management in the USA.
She worked in a large orthopaedic & sports injury clinic in New York, experiencing first hand the benefits to the patient of working closely with other healthcare professionals, especially surgeons.
She then moved to the UK where she founded a physiotherapy, sports medicine and sports performance practice, acting as Clinical Director for 15 years in addition to her clinical duties as a Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal & sports injuries. She completed a post-graduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine, was involved in the development and delivery of undergraduate degree courses in Sports Rehabilitation, and was a founding member of the professional body for graduates of these courses. She also managed to somehow find the time to play scrum-half for Ireland (albeit a few years ago now!).
Siobhán is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, which enhances both her treatment and rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal injuries in which she specialises. The combination of her physiotherapy and conditioning backgrounds is evidenced in her interest areas of injury prevention, assessment, treatment & rehab of musculoskeletal sports injuries, prescribing and making corrective insoles (orthotics), postural education & rehabilitation, and strength & conditioning.
