Our Women’s Health Physiotherapist is based in our clinic in Mallow, Cork.

We offer a wide range of professional and confidential women’s health services, including:
- Urinary Incontinence
- Incontinence During Pregnancy
- Pain During Pregnancy
- Faecal Incontinence (available soon)
Chartered Physiotherapists have a central role in treating incontinence. After a detailed assessment, our physiotherapist may teach you exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, along with other techniques to retrain the bladder, lifestyle changes and advice to promote and maintain continence. You may also be asked to maintain a voiding diary and give details of your general medical history.
If contracting pelvic floor muscles proves ineffective for you, Biofeedback and Electrotherapy may be used to help activate and stimulate the muscles.
“Regular exercise of the pelvic floor muscles is as important to all women as doing breast self-examination. After all, a woman’s chance of developing incontinence during her lifetime is much greater than breast cancer. And what an impact on her quality of life! “
