Caitríona Ní Mhurchú, Chartered Physiotherapist
Qualifications & Education
Caitríona is a fully licensed Chartered Physiotherapist and a current member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP). Caitríona obtained her Honours BSc Physiotherapy degree at University College Dublin. Since qualifying she has worked with several sports teams including UCD Soccer Team 1st Division in the Airtricity League (League of Ireland), UCD Soccer team U19 in the National League, along with St. Judes Hurling Team. She has developed her skills working in private practice over the last 4 years. She currently holds a Dry Needling Certification. She has completed courses on Physical Activity and Motivational Interviewing. She has spent a summer elective working in a Belgian hospital in Neurological Rehabilitation through French.
Caitríona specialises in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic injuries, sports injury treatment, deep tissue massage and dry needling. In addition she has done international research on the effect of exercise on Chronic Low Back Pain. As a result, she has gained knowledge in treating clients with a range of Low Back Pain issues. She takes a holistic approach to pain including looking at mental health, nutrition and stress reduction.
Caitríona has a keen interest in Camogie and Gaelic football and plays for an Irish speaking club Na Gaeil Óga. She takes part in her local ParkRun, which is free weekly timed runs all over Ireland. She regularly takes part in mindfulness and understands the importance of good mental health.
