Aoife Sheehan, Chartered Physiotherapist
Qualifications & Education
Aoife is a fully licensed Chartered Physiotherapist with current membership of the ISCP (Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists). She obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Since finishing college Aoife has gained much experience in the area of sports physiotherapy by working with the Carrickshock Hurling Team. She has also provided physiotherapy at a number of well known sporting events including the Women's Mini Marathon, the Dublin City Marathon and the Kells Kings Charity Cycle. As a result of these, she is very confident with sports taping and will shortly complete a course in dry needling. Her areas of interest include Neuro Rehabilitation and Respiratory care. She completed a research proposal on the effect of high intensity interval training on patients with Cystic Fibrosis while in college.
Aoife is interested in all areas of sport, being from Kilkenny hurling and camogie play a big part in her life! Irish dancing was a great passion of hers and she competed at the highest level for 15 years, winning regional titles. She recently took up running, completing the Mini Marathon and hopes to improve her time this coming year and also take part in many more charity runs.
